Colder Trending First Week of March
Tuesday, February 20th: Tuesday: Yesterday’s afternoon and the overnight weather data was colder trending over the eastern US for the first week of March. The first image below shows a colder trough shifting over the East, but only after this week and much of next ply out quite mild with strong high pressure dominating the South and East. The second image shows our Live HDD/CDD data from the GFS Ensemble model last night as it trended colder to add nearly 20 Heating Degree Days (HDD’s) from the Monday Mid-day run from 12-hours earlier, and right when prices spiked several cents.
